Let’s look at the benefits and why many who have intolerances to wheat can tolerate real sourdough. First of all it’s probiotic, like kefir or yogurt, containing multiple strains of beneficial microflora.
With the use of incrementally whole cell crushed grains from Our Fathers Foods it has been amazing just how many people tell me they are able eat bread again!!!
The slow process helps to promote the growth of more probiotic organisms that do the following:
1. Digest and assimilate (properly absorb) the foods you eat. .
2. Are necessary in order to maintain a healthy intestinal tract.
3. Contain uniquely balanced proteins, fatty acids, cellulose, minerals, and innumerable other nutrients our bodies need.
4. Provide vitamins B1 through B6 from lactobacillus and B12 vitamins from wild yeast..
5. Depletes damaged starch in bread, thus diabetic people should not get insulin shock..
6. Produce acids, which will break down and remove some of the glutens from the bread.
7. Offset the effects of phytic acid, which robs your body of precious minerals.
8. Dissolve proteins by producing protein enzymes, thus loosening multiple peptide bonds so that you can absorb more amino acids into your body..
9. Inhibit the growth of bad bacteria.
10. Have most everything needed for optimum nutritional absorption..
I have many people share with me that this bread has given them life back. It provides beneficial nutrients that really does a body good. You need the healthy mix of fermentation and slow process to make an excellent bread that gluten intolerant people can eat.
One of the greatest statements recently, is Oprah creating a tweet that stated her love of bread and that she has been able to eat it every day while still losing weight.
I LOVE BREAD…It has always been one of my favorite foods. As a little girl, I remember this love. I’m so glad to get to share this passion with you.
We know that you have many choices and we don't take it lightly that you have chosen to visit our site. If you've read the Promise above, you also know that we do promise to always use the best possible ingredients sourced locally when possible, using organic ingredients that are free of hormones, pesticides, fillers, GMO's and anything else that our body doesn't need. We also believe that food should be fun and taste great. Many have had bad experiences with healthy options that didn't live up to what we thought they should. You know the type...dry and a cardboard like texture, tasteless and just plain disappointing. When you choose to invest in your temple and your health, you always win. I'm glad you chose to learn more, be more and make this life of health a journey with us. We won't disappoint you.
The patient should be made to understand that he or she must take charge of his own life. Don’t take your body to the doctor as if he were a repair shop.
Kellie Valenti,
Hi, I’m Kellie Fett Valenti and welcome to Nourishing Roots (formerly LLYY), where we live life Naturally!!!
I won’t profess to know everything and I certainly am not perfect. Whew, now that we have that out of the way, we can explore some of the things that I do and like, which hopefully meshes with some of the things you do and like.
I am a mother of 2 daughters, Ashlie and Amber, (and 5 grandchildren), whom I’m very proud of. I’ve been blessed to have the amazing job of raising them to the best of my abilities. They have grown up watching me and hearing me talk all the time about health, fitness and what I learn and practice.
I can’t tell you what an amazing moment it is when they share with me something they repeated me say. It’s what I call a learning and teaching moment. Especially when you thought they were just rolling their eyes and not listening, because they’d heard this before or didn’t really care. They actually do. I love it.
You see, I like life to be simple even though it sometimes isn’t. I am a natural experimenter, meaning I will try things out that I read or hear to see if it works for me, if it’s something that’s easy to implement, and if it makes sense. Often times this is how we learn and grow. Sometimes these experiments have been great and other times not so much.
In the long run, I’ve found that life is a journey and when we expect things to drastically change immediately, we get disappointed, frustrated and give up. I’m no different. I have found that the best way to navigate the natural, holistic lifestyle is to take it one day at a time, have access to great information, be willing to change your ways of thinking on some subjects and be willing to experiment a little. I also know that accountability, desire and motivation play a huge role.
I believe that we are all capable of achieving a lifetime of happiness, health and that we can make a huge difference in our own lives, as well as those we affect, our families, our friends and chances are co-workers as well.
To a Lifetime of Health,
Kellie
